Opening Doors For Adults And Children
The Adult Learning Center is a vibrant, exciting place in which to learn. All of our programs are guided by our mission: to provide academic programs, skills training, and support services designed to enable adults and young adults to achieve more productive lives for themselves and their children. Our programs reflect solutions to the needs of individuals who want to better train themselves for the workplace and also reflect solutions for the local business community, which needs trained individuals in order to thrive. Our programs continue to expand because we are committed to being responsive to the needs of our community. |
ABOUT THE ADULT LEARNING CENTER... Since 1972, the Adult Learning Center has been providing quality education to the people of the greater Nashua area. Our students discover skills, which are theirs for a lifetime. By becoming educated, trained, employed, and independent, and by ensuring that their children are educated, our students are making a very personal contribution to a healthy, prosperous community. The Adult Learning Center serves more than 3,500 individuals each year. We are located in two main facilities, Lake Street and Arlington Street, and have child care programs at 21 area elementary schools. Our staff has earned and maintained positions of leadership in adult education, technology training, workplace literacy, and child care. We are governed by a volunteer board of directors, comprised of local citizens. The Adult Learning Center is a private, not-for-profit agency. We receive financial support from United Way; program-related federal, state, county, and city grants; and donations from businesses, individuals, foundations and civic organizations. All of our programs are offered free of charge or on a sliding scale based on income and family size. Non-Discrimination |
