Everyone has felt the shockwaves of the economy’s collapse, but parents whose employment depends on affordable care for their children have been dealt an especially devastating blow. A shortfall in funding has put 2,500 New Hampshire children on the wait list for care. And those who are lucky enough to get a spot in our nationally accredited Early Childhood Adventures Program are struggling to pay more than they can afford.

Without the Adult Learning Center’s childcare, education, and support programs, our clients’ many inspiring success stories wouldn’t have such happy endings. Emma, busy mother of four, would have been forced to stay home instead of getting her GED and going to college. Dameris, who emigrated here from Kenya twelve years ago, wouldn’t have had access to the resources she needed to learn English and begin her career as a licensed nursing assistant. Maureen, who participated in the Adult Learning Center’s Granite State Organizing Leadership Project, wouldn’t have found the powerful voice she’s now using to advocate for a youth center in French Hill.

Our clients benefit from our programs, and in turn, Nashua benefits from having a better-educated workforce. Your donation isn’t just helping the Adult Learning Center or people like Emma, Dameris and Maureen, it is also helping you and your neighbors.

For your own sake, and for the sake of the people in this community, please consider donating to the Adult Learning Center. Every donation we receive contributes to calming the economic turmoil, stabilizing our community, and bettering the lives of our clients. If you have ever wondered how you can make a difference in these difficult times, this is your opportunity.

Sincerely,
